Basically our band is about having fun. We play all sorts of gigs with all sorts of line-ups but the main emphasis of MURDER THE STOUT is about having a good time. Get yourself to a live show to see what we mean. The first pint is ALWAYS on us!!
Read on for a brief band history...
Murder the Stout Band Bio:
MURDER THE STOUT formed at the end of 2004 after lead singer Gerard Bride wanted to get back to serious performing.
He & Neil DuFour on guitar, had already developed a decent setlist when Hugh Morrison with his squeeze box joined ranks.
After the original drummer & bass player re-located the search was on for the perfect rhythm section and along came Berkley Sisson & Jonathan Chamrad whose years of performing together across the state in country bands found them the perfect fit. Hugh had played with Jonathan in a previous band as had Berkley & Gerard in Houstons first celtic band On the Dole, a band that Gerard formed back in 1998.
Fairly recently, dear Berkley moved on to pursue a career in Country Music and JAY BROOKS has filled the bass role like he's always been there! A master bass player who can turn his hand to many genre's which is quite often needed in a band like Murder the Stout!
Murder the Stout have been grabbing bookings at pubs, clubs & festivals ever since.
A perfect combination, with Hugh & Gerards genuine Scottish & Irish traditions, along with an all Texan rhythm section sets this group apart.
Their first tour was in April 2006 as Murder the Stout took their show from Texas to Louisiana & Mississippi to promote their new release.
A more recent trip to California went down unbelievably where they have been constantly touted to make a return, hopefully later this year those Californians will experience "The Stout" once again!
Their full length debut album is now available & was officially released on St. Patrick's Day, 2006!
The future is certainly bright for these Murderers of Stout.
